Beyond TODAY for Travis

God bless this guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another round of Baylor speech has begun.
PLeaSE pray with us for
continued improvement and strength
and stamina and HOPE!!!

I laughed when I picked him up and
he was decked head to toe
in burnt orange UT gear
for his first day back at Baylor!!!
It is unbelievable how hard
he works at SUCH A SLOW process!
And almost always with a SMILE!!!
It has been so precious to see
new friends of ours
learn about Travis and their interest
and heart for him and his story.
Big AND little lives continuing to
be affected by our Superman's story.
Like Jersi:)
Love her sweet heart so much!!!
A very, VERY sweet friend whom I met
through my church AND Baylor speech
has put us in contact with a promising
place that helps TBI patients.
We are sooooooooooo cautiously
excited and PRAYERFUL
that something can come of this.
I have a VERY hard time not looking
to the future for Travis...what does it
hold???  I constantly remind myself ~
One day at a time, Sweet Jesus!
But it's still hard even with the faith
that those words ARE indeed truth.
My heart aches and longs for
better days for my nephew ~ independence,
future companionship (as in LOVE),
and so much more.  My family and I
pray for far more than Travis
to just be able to talk, walk and eat.

Please join me in praying that
this might be a break...something
BiG that could help our Superman.
There would be MANY obstacles
such as cost, location, etc
to overcome, but oh my Goodness
Gracious how Travis needs more:
intense therapy/help/cutting edge ideas!

"At present you may be temporarily
harassed by all kinds of trials.
This is no accident.
It happens to prove your faith
which is infinitely more valuable than gold."
1 Peter 1:6-7
Life is not a series of random, freak accidents. Life is not totally unplanned. Life is not without meaning. God knows what's going on. He's weaving the fabric in your life, and a tapestry has light and dark threads -- happy and sad times -- to give richness and texture and color to your life. Nothing can come into the life of a child of God without God's permission. Everything is Father-filtered.
Don't misunderstand. I am not saying that everything that happens to you in life is God's perfect will. That's just not true. There are a lot of things that are not God's will. If you go out and sin, that's not God's will. If somebody sins against you, that's not God's perfect will.
But God does have a permissive will. If I go out and I overeat, I pay the consequences. If I go out and wreck my body, I pay the consequences. God does not cause evil and God does not cause suffering. But He does allow them because they have a purpose. God permits them and then He uses them.
God is an expert at bringing good out of bad. He could have kept Paul out of prison in Philippi but instead He let Paul go to prison and the jailer became a believer as a result. God could have kept Jesus from the cross but He let Him go -- His own Son -- He let Him suffer and die. Did He bring any good out of that? I'd say He did!  God loves to turn crucifixions into resurrections. The things you wish were most removed from your life are often the very things that God is using to shape you and make you into the believer of character He wants you to be. He wants to use that problem for good in your life. There's something more important than your pain. It's what you're learning from that pain. God is in control.
So what's the key? What's our response? Our response is to look past the pain. "This is the reason we never lose heart. These troubles which are temporary are winning for us a permanent, a glorious and solid reward out of proportion to our pain. So we don't look at the temporary situation. We look beyond to see the eternal benefits." (2 Corinthians 4:16-17)

Weekend Love

A weekend with my family...
especially watching Walker play
ball (and pray before the game)
= Perfect!!!
Cheering section for #5...
Grandmother & PaPa had come straight
from their Beloved Baylor Bears Basketball...
I couldn't be more thankful.
Even thankful for how well-
behaved my kids are at stores;)
I mean seriously;)
Each day I realize that my alma mater's
chances are less and less.....
Glad I like the Aggies! ;)
Church with my favorite Twinsies:)
I love my little Sunday School class
so much.  I never dreamed "I" would be
the one so blessed by teaching a three
and four year old class!
I'm so in love!!!

SNOW Day!!!

Last Friday was a "snow day" in Waco!
Well, actually really an ICE day...
and due to the ice, MISD declared it
a late start to school:)
My little Huddy hasn't seen much
"snow"!!!  (Honestly he's not crazy about it!)
SNoW MuCH FuN
Even Big Jo showed up!!!
Just to keep it real and honest on
Trendy Mindy & Her Loves;),
THIS picture more accurately
describes how I felt that morning...
I'm NOT a fan of cold weather.
AT ALL.
Like seriously
AT ALL.
It makes me grumpy and miserable.
I get cold on NOT cold days
and I get REALLY cold on cold days.

I actually let my kids sleep as late
as possible that morning so maybe
they wouldn't have time or want to
play outside;(
MOM of the YEAR, I know!!!
Then I was hollering things
from the back door like,
"Don't get wet ~ I'm not letting you
change out of those clothes",
"Hurry up and get back inside",
"NO, I'm not coming out there",
"I hate the cold," etc.
Was not pretty and I hoped
that the neighbors didn't hear me!!!
haaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

NoT SNoW much FuN for ME!!!

Nothing Special, But Actually Very Special

Lunch with Grandmother
at our favorite place:)
Apparently Huds has a crush on Jersi;)
One day when she was over he
kept chasing her and even
kissed her on the forehead!!!!!!!!!!
Walker, Hudson and I happened to
be at Target and he said he was
going to buy her this rose!!!
I can't EVEN make this stuff UP!!!!!!!!!
Hadlee was gone to a movie with Jersi
that day & sure enough he gave
her that rose when they got home!
(So sad my picture turned out blurry!)
So sweet!:)
We were all dying!!!!!!!!
(He says I'm still #1 and that he will
marry me!!!!!  Thank Goodness!)
Wonder Wonder Wonder
LOOM!!!!!!!!
Hair cut day + MAIL from the Reeds!!!
Huddy LOVES him some Reeds
and their sweet, sweet b-day gift!!!
I had no idea this was why these
two cutie pies wanted my phone
in the third row
on the way home from dance!!! ;)
January is a month full of VeRY special birthdays...
Aunt Michelle and Travis :)
Then Hudson and Grandma Robinett
who actually share a birthday on the 17th.
Grandma turned 90 this year!!!!!!
The absolute best grandma in the world!
We love this beautiful Christian woman.
She amazes me how she cares for each
one of us...even ones like me who married
in to her family:)  She calls on the kids'
birthdays and she always asks me
how my family is.  She's an angel on earth.
Plus she's just cool!!!
 ~
AND Logan's birthday on the 22nd.
Hard to believe this was taken 19 years ago.......
One thing I've learned in my 38 years...
every day in our lives is special
no matter what we are doing.
