Only You for Fifty Years

On August 30th I posted this question..."How do you thank your parents for a life time of love?" I still don't have the answer to that question, but I tried to begin thanking mine today with a 50th Wedding Anniversary party at my home given by my sisters and me. It went way beyond all of my expectations and I am just so happy and thankful!!! Everything was perfect & the turn out was incredible...their friends from long ago, current friends, my mother's entire Sunday School class, traveling friends, former work friends, and LOTS of family from all over...yes, this spoke volumes to me about what I already knew about my parents. They are loved by MANY and they love MANY. The good Lord blessed me with AMAZING parents.

I have a TON of pictures (like 145!) to go through and I am far too tired to do that right now. Tonight I just want to post pictures from my parents' wedding on August 30, 1958. It breaks my heart to think that my mother had lost both of her parents at this time in her life. My mom and dad had a simple, yet BEAUTIFUL wedding (as you will see in the photos). I tear up thinking that my mother didn't get to have a reception or a cake or her own dress or most of all her parents there...and then to think there was hardly anything out of limits when it came to the weddings of my sisters and me. Thankfully, my mother had a beautiful wedding cake today...just 50 years later.

Here is a video that I made for my parents of their 50 years together. I put my heart and soul into this project (with help from my dear friend Karen, too!) and I am so proud of it! We showed it continuously during the party. It's 23 minutes long, so I doubt anyone will wish to see it...but just in case, here it is (be sure to turn off my blog's music)...
