First Day of First Grade

Walker was PUMPED this morning
about first grade!!!
Sure made this mommy feel
good about sending him back to
school all.day.long.
Didn't keep me from thinking about him
all.day.long. though!!!
AND missing him all.day.long.

Waiting in the cafeteria with one of his good buddies...

We walked our Big Little Guy to his class and I
quickly realized this would be the last time
to walk him to a classroom. He didn't even need
mommy and daddy one bit at all!!!
Thank Goodness I have two more kiddos to go!
I had not one worry leaving my son
with this beautiful teacher...
He most certainly had a different expression
on his face this year than he did last year.
I'll never forget that strong tough, but oh so
scared look when we left him at kindergarten!!!
When Hadlee and I picked him up,
I asked him how his first day was and his answer was...
"THE BEST!!!"
Last year on our drives home all of his answers
about his day were very short and usually
involved "I don't remember."
Today, he couldn't stop talking and
telling me ALL about his day!!!
I loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Little Miss couldn't wait to pick up
her Bubs this afternoon! When your birthday always falls the
day after school starts every year, it's hard
not to BEG and PLEAD to open a present early...And even harder for your mommy
to not let you...Walker...we are so happy that you had a great
first day of first grade. Our prayer is
for many, many more "BEST" days like today!!!

Did I seriously hug and kiss my SIX year
old little baby boy for the last time tonight
before bed?!? HOLD ME!
I can't wait to hug and kiss my SEVEN
year old in the morning!!!!!!!!!!!!
Or better yet at 12:01 am!!!

I'm so glad Walker had a GREAT first day of FIRST GRADE! What a wonderful feeling for Mommy, too!! May all Walker's school days be THE BEST!

Walker reminds me of my two nephews in his Under Armour shirt! They are in 1st and 4th grades and both wore new UA shirts on the first day, too! You would have gone nuts in Destin ~ they had an UA store at the outlet mall! My sister-in-law went crazy buying things for the boys!!
