SWARM Basketball Team

Walker was asked to play in a different
basketball league this year.
A MUCH more DIFFICULT league!
We are so glad he chose to do it...
such a great experience and he
learned A LOT
(even though they lost quite a few games;).
Plus it was with an AWESOME group of friends!
Our team was composed of all 2nd graders.
We usually had to play 3rd grade teams
who had been playing for years together.
Our boys gave it their ALL and we were
ALWAYS so proud of them!
"HEY, can I suit up and play?!?"
 Isn't she SWEET?
 99.9% of the time!!!
I gotta give her credit that was A LOT of
basketball she had to watch...
sometimes more than one game in a day!
Of course I loved spending time with the
parents.  Through this and that
 in sports & school,
Troy and I have made some great friends.
Walker chose #55 because that was
always Macy's basketball number! :)
 Walker started getting REALLY aggressive
and REALLY into playing.
He also practiced in the driveway a lot.
He made us so proud!  :)
Zach, Garrett, Tanner, Walker, Graham, Court,
Peyton, Matthew
 Way to Go, SWARM!!!
Especially #55!

January Twenty Eleven

January 1, 2011, we celebrated my
beautiful middle sistah's birthday!!!
Michelle is the most kind hearted
person I've ever known in my life.
I bet I know EXACTLY what she wished for;)
So, she's not "4"...but that's the only number
we had!  I guess I better not reveal her age...
even though she looks and acts 21.
I'll just say that she is ten years older than I am.
(I am 36!)  hee hee! :-)
This little love bug was about two weeks away
from being one when I took
this pic with my iPhone.  :(
I'm so thankful I got to have another baby.
Princess Pie...I love her so!
Modern Technology at its best...
Janitor Hudson hard at work!!! ;-)
Then it was time to pack up for a three day
trip to Austin to celebrate a certain
Superman's 22nd Birthday
on January 5th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(That celebration gets its own post!)
 Dancin' Queen...
 She LOVES going to dance...
Mondays at 1:15 with her little friends.
I love her in her leg warmers;)
On January 22nd, we celebrated
Logan's 16th Birthday!
He told me not to put any of these on
Facebook!  ha!
Logan still isn't finished with drivers ed?!?  Crazy guy!
Logan is such a good kid.  He has SUCH
a heart and this whole deal with Travis
has REALLY, REALLY affected him.
In a positive light:)
Logan is AMAZING with my kids
and they ADORE him.
Aunt Mindy adores him, too!
Our other handsome 16 year old!
 Logan & Hunter are BOTH
so handsome AND tall!
When Walker isn't reminding me exactly
of Travis, then he is reminding me of Logan!
I love these guys!!!  AND fear for when
they actually do start driving
 (not so much Logan!  ha!).
 I'm so thankful for celebrations:)
I'm also thankful for sweet notes I find
on my desk like this one.  Sweet, sweet
girl left this for me one day.  Reminds
me why I love my job...
"Madame Pierce, I am thankful that you
always look like you enjoy teaching us.
It makes the difference. - Alyx"
Sweet students like HER make the
difference for ME!

 Could.VERY.easily.EAT.him.UP!!!
The rest of January we spent
"Supporting Travis"!!!
Sweet boy told me to take this pic for Travis.....

Support for Travis Shirts

So one day a sweet girl who had kinda
been "talking" to Travis before his accident
was sitting in class and drew a
"Support Travis" logo on notebook
paper and posted it on Facebook
to show how much she was paying attention
in class.;)  Well, everyone started
commenting that she should make
shirts out of her design.
GUESS what?!?
She partnered with a dear friend
of Lynna's and they did just that!
God has shown His goodness through
people time and time again during
 this journey!
I found THE perfect little model
to show off the first round of shirts!
Aren't the shirts AWESOME?!?
This little guy seemed to already know
that the shirts were the bomb.com!!!
Jennifer and Alyssa were just incredible
devoting SO MUCH time to getting the
shirt designed just right, creating order
forms, selling them, delivering them...
and EVERYHING else that goes
along with an undertaking like this.
Both Jennifer & Alyssa are now dear friends
of MINE and I love them so much.
ALLLLLLLLLL of this in honor of our
Superman who was (IS) working SO HARD
to re-learn everything!!!
A real LIVE miracle.....................
We wore our shirts for the first time
on January 1, 2011...
we are so proud of them & thought that
was the BEST way to start off the new year!
The shirts have made OVER
 two thousand dollars...
probably even more than that actually.
I see them all over town and it brings
such a smile to my face and such
sweet comfort to my heart.
I have friends who have ordered
them and wear them in different cities.
I even had a friend from high school
call me last week because he ran into
someone (a stranger) with one on in Austin.
The support for Travis has truly
been unbelievable.
People are so good and kind.
 "Be joyful in hope,
patient in affliction,
constant in prayer."
Romans 12:12
There couldn't be a better verse for these shirts!

NYE Twenty-Eleven!!!

Want to know why Haddie has such a
sad face in this picture taken on
New Year's Eve of 2011?!?
Because she and Walker were fighting
over who got to hold Big Huds!!!
At least it was for a sweet reason!;)
This is much better, Princess Pie...........
"Play all day!  Rock all night!"
You go, Walker D!;)
We had a very low key New Year's...
which was just the way we wanted it.
There was no other place I wanted
to be than home sweet home
with my little family of five!
I certainly have LIVE entertainment there!!!;)
I have to be very delicate when I
think about the year we had.
Dickens' phrase in A Tale of Two Cities
couldn't be more applicable for our 2010...
"It was the best of times,
it was the worst of times..."
Obviously I look at 2010 as the year that my
family's life was changed forever
because of Trav's accident.
As much of a miracle as we are experiencing,
the Travis that we knew for 21 years will
never be the same.  My heart will forever
mourn over that, but at the same time I will
embrace the new Travis AND
the miracle that he is still with us!!!
So as far as the "accident" part of 2010...
that falls under the worst of times.
On the flip side though...
2010 was the best of times
It was the year that we were blessed
with the surprise of our lives:
Hudson Jack Pierce!!!

He has done nothing but bring
JOY and LOVE and LAUGHTER
 to our lives!!!
God knew we needed Hudson
and we are SO very VERY thankful
for his sweet little life!!!
 Here's to more Hudson
(and more Walker & Hadlee!!!!!!!!)
AND
to more miracles for our
Superman in 2011!
