September 10th Superman Weekend

September 10th weekend was 

nothing short of a

SUPER

 SUPERMAN

SHOW!!! ;)))

After greeting Travis at home with

Garrett that morning...

We all headed to the Ice House

that night to celebrate our

Superman!!!

Talk about a miracle in the making,

four months ago in April Travis had to

be wheeled into the Icehouse

for his benefit.  September 10th

he used his walker to WALK in!!!

What will another four months bring?

We are BOLDLY praying!!!

He was so happy to see

some of his dear friends...

Beautiful Skye...he met her through

work.  He did a triatholon with

her and some other girls from Baylor...

JUST SO HE COULD BE WITH THE HOT GIRLS!

She is going to be a physical therapist.  :)

Many of Trav's friends have dropped off. :(

While this breaks my heart and rips

my soul to the very core since Travis has

been/always was a true and tried friend

to those he loves, I have to remind

myself they are just young people. 

This "bro" as they have always called

themselves has NOT waivered at all.

We love Dustin R...........

even if he told my mother the first time

she met him when they were young

that he was from Hawaii and she believed him!

Since then, he's been Dustin from Hawaii. 

That smile on Travis says it all.

Friends are so important...

especially when you find yourself

in the situation Travis is in.

Travis is hilarious these days

and takes great pride and joy in the fact

that he's "famous"......

he's the first to tell you that

"It's difficult being so famous."

HA!  Makes us CRACK up!!!!!!!!

Uncle Ron is so kind and gentle with Travis.

To STAND next to Travis again......

just about takes my breath away.

Sometimes I close my eyes and
try with all my heart and soul to feel

 Travis and his arms around me

as he used to be...

so vibrant and strong and so Travis.

I long for the day it really happens again.

These two are so happy when they get to

be together again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you tell we all want a chance to

stand next to Travis?

Especially Grandmother!!!!

But NONE moreso than his beautiful mama!!!

Thank God Wendell came back into our lives.

Another dear friend of Travis named Jerry

and his sweet wife.  They were so proud

to show Travis their daughter. 

His wife Stephanie called me the next week

and told me how Jerry had been worried

about how to react to Travis (they had

not seen him since Texas Neuro),

but that he was so relieved because
he realized that Travis is pretty

much the same Travis...

but he just can't talk. 

God bless Ashlee's heart...she's been with us

since the beginning.  She and Macy and Travis

always used to hang out. 

The band was playing and Travis

had his Dynovox say this.....

We couldn't keep one little guy

and a big guy

off the dance floor;)))

The STORM!!!

Going through something tragic like

my family has makes you realize how

God is such the mastermind behind

every single thing in our lives.

I was such a late, late surprise

in my parents' and sisters' lives...

but ya know what?

God knew I needed to be late.....

so these three would be these ages

and give us such laughs and joy

during such a trying time. 

"And we know that God causes all things to work

Superman had to go back to CNS...

started to fall.  :(((

Always gotta keep them in check though...
