Another Baylor Girl for Pa Pa?!?

Last weekend was Baylor Homecoming and my bestie Kimberly
and her hubby and sweet baby girl were all set to come. Then
strep throat hit our house and they decided not to (go figure...
they have a six month old sweetie pie!).
We were so excited to attend the parade again this year
especially since CHLOE would now be with us!
It was a BUMMER (but luckily we are going to
see them THIS weekend
in Houston for Chloe's Christening).

Miss Priss still put on her Baylor cheer suit since
it was Homecoming even if we had to miss the festivities!

Here's how it went down:
"Hey, Daddy told me NEVER to wear the green and gold."...
"I really think Daddy will be mad at me and
Bubba keeps making fun of me."...
"I hate to do this, Mommy, but I have to give
you THE LOOK. I'm just not sure about the green and gold.
I'm used to Aggie marroon and nothing but."...
"What did you say? You went to Baylor and had
the time of your life?!? That's where you met all of
those beautiful best friends you call Na Na's?
Really, Mommy?!?"...
"Maybe Baylor is cool!!! WHAT? You used to
wear your roommate and fellow Na Na's REAL Baylor
cheerleading suit to parties (sometimes when she
didn't even know you were going to do that)?!?
That's really funny that you did that, Mommy!"...
"I am glad we went over to Grandmother and
PaPa's since they put you through Baylor
AND they bought me this cheerleading outfit."...
"You gotta be kidding me? You had more
fun than THIS while you were at Baylor?"...

"Just in case I ever cheer for Baylor like Kaye did,
I better pretend this is a balance beam and practice."...

"Wonder if I can be a Pi Phi at Baylor
like you and the Na Na's?!?"...

"HA HA! That's funny that you tricked Bubba into
wearing this new shirt you got him. You knew he wouldn't
wear anything with Baylor on it so you got him
a Nike soccer shirt with green on it. Smart Mama!"

"Don't dare tell Daddy, but Bubba and I had
so much fun in our green attire!"

"And here's my silly Pa Pa who loves Baylor
and he really wants me to go there, too!" "Daddy definitely doesn't like for Pa Pa to say that.
Daddy's reply is always that Pa Pa can pay for me to attend Baylor. PaPa usually doesn't say much after that since it's a little pricey at Baylor!"

"Mommy, what about boys kissing me like this?!?"...

"OH, only allow my cute Aggie Bubba
or my cute Aggie Daddy to kiss me?"
"Sounds great, Mommy! I love your alma mater!
But I still think I'll have to go to Texas A&M!!!"

AHHHHH, SIC 'EM BEARS!!!

Have a great weekend!

I Love to Hold His Hand

After Walker got those awards, it really made
me reflect on how far this boy has come!
He never wanted me to sit and work with him
on writing his name or letters or anything.
It was like one day in Pre-K it just clicked,
and he started to color well and write his letters!
Walker has always loved reading books
(or having books read to him).
Now, he is trying to read the books!
He even taught Hadlee an entire
No David book...it's hilarious to hear her read it!!!
And his behavior...well, let me just say that when we
put Walker in pre-k when he was four,
we were certain that 'color changes' would be a new,
major part of our lives.
Hasn't been the case...not in the least bit AT ALL!!!
[FYI, I'm knocking on wood right now.]
(I'll save his behavior at home for another day...
let's keep this post positive! ha!).
I'm a demonstrative person (in case you haven't noticed!)...
I think my family, my friends, my friends' kids, my hoodies,
my blogger friends, my everything are the GREATEST.
And no doubt I think my kids are the ABSOLUTE GREATEST!
So indulge me, while I remember these moments in time!

Most of the time, Walker takes great pride in his work...

This was a wooden car to paint that the Oakleys gave Walker for his birthday. He LOVED it...

He really worked so hard and it turned
out AWESOME! Thanks, Abigail & Brady!!!

One day a couple of weeks after school started,
Walker came home telling me he needed to take a picture of
himself to art class. It was never written down
in his folder or anything, but I still sent one.
Come to find out the art teacher suggested
they bring a picture of themselves so they could
do a self-portrait...I would have given him the art award, too! HA HA!

Such a funny kid...he's all into school;
but also his cars, trains, Ben10, soccer, snakes, etc.
And then LOOK what PaPa brings Walker from
Switzerland...yes, a SWISS KNIFE!
Walker was so proud of this...

When he first got it, he was so excited and he said, "I can't wait to use this!" We all just looked at him in horror of what he would say. He then continued..."TO CUT CAKE!"
After many lectures about this thing, it is now very well HIDDEN from Walker!!! It's a wonderful keepsake and when he's about sixteen, he might can use it at the deer lease with Daddy.

More than anything, even his good report card & his wonderful awards, I am proud that Walker loves his family, his friends, his activities and he loves to pray!

And oh that sweet heart of his; for instance, last night when I was reading his new cobra book to him, I read a part about cobras being deaf, Walker said, "Oh, poor cobras." My sweet, sweet boy...he evens feels bad for the deaf cobras (by the way, did you know that bit of info?).

You'll just have to forgive me for being so mushy lately. I'm not handling my babies growing up very well...especially since it looks like another little one isn't in our future.

Saturday Walker and I were walking side by side holding hands. It's been a while since we've 'held' hands. I was overtaken by how BIG his hands are (and for the record, his feet are HUGE!). I just treasured that moment holding his hand and wished that I could stop time.

My baby boy is growing up...way too fast.

Thankfully, I am loving the young boy he is becoming!

Walker 2040

With the news I have to share, I'm thinking
Walker just might be President in 2040! (Just kidding!)
WOW...so far, so AMAZING!!!
Kindergarten is treating Walker well!
Last Thursday, Walker's teacher came out to tell me
that Walker had some special news (so glad she did because
Walker probably wouldn't have told me!). Apparently each
"special" at his school (music, art, PE, & computer) gives out an
award each nine weeks to certain students by grade level.

Guess what Walker received?!?
ALL FOUR!!!

I couldn't believe it and I couldn't have been more proud!!!
He was called up to receive each award.
His Daddy and I are just over the moon excited for him!
Yesterday, the certificates were in his backpack...

Walker...Mommy & Daddy couldn't be more proud!

We love you...awards or no awards!!!

ROCK THE VOTE!!!

Now for some...TREATS!!!

Well, Halloween day didn't start off too well...
especially since I had to attend Walker's kindergarten party
ALL BY MYSELF since he had strep throat (room mom!).
That was a BUMMER!
Our doctor said that once Walker had two doses
of antibiotic in him, that he would be good to go
for Trick-or-Treating. So we started off with a
good dinner to make sure ~ a snake platter
full of mac & cheese...
A Halloween surprise helped, too...Then it was time to get Haddie Girl ready...
much to the dismay of grandparents, aunts and
even DADDY, I straightened her hair!!!Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Haddie's curls...but Princess Dora doesn't have curls! She was adorable getting ready...
While the little Diva, I mean Princess, took her sweet time getting ready...SPIDERMAN waited patiently!!!Introducing Princess Dora...
I'm in BIG trouble with this girl someday...

My two favorite TREATS...
Hopefully, Walker's mask protected everyone from strep!
It was such a beautiful night and we had a great
time Trickin' and Treatin' with Hoodies...
A HUGE highlight of my night was when this PRECIOUS
little cheerleader came to trick-or-treat. This is
Makenna and I have followed her blog for a long time!
I recently met her and her mom at the park...
it was such a treat for them to stop by!
Makenna's mom took this picture.
This little angel is just beautiful...
Check out these two cute tricksters...
Sometimes you just have to let a
Princess have her way...
The audacity of someone to give Hadlee
a Tootsie Roll!!! (HA!)...
Don't you know I just like and yellow and orange Starburst?!?
Happy Halloween 2008!!!

Hope you had a great time!!!
