We really didn't know exactly when,
but we knew that the time for Travis
to move on to a new rehab hospital
was drawing near.
We were alllllll VERY ready to
get that show on the road!
We would/could/will support
our SUPERMAN
whenever & wherever
AND forever!!!
Travis went through a little stage
where he liked having his shirt off.
He found a partner in crime;)
Seems like there was always a party
going on in Trav's room;)))
Sweet Alyssa K...Cody...
Leave it to Huds to be playing
in Trav's laundry hamper!;)
Sweetie Pie peaking in Trav's room...
We love our Travis!!!
Uncle Troy working with Travis
on the iPad...
We all loved being there with Travis
so much! Not where we wanted to be...
but so thankful to be with him.
God is good!!!
God is good!!!
Beautiful mama and her handsome son!
I could never have dreamed or predicted
or imagined that my family and our
friends would EMBRACE
or imagined that my family and our
friends would EMBRACE
this situation like we have. Through God's
grace, the goodness of others and our
love for Travis, it was the ONLY way!
Travis would do this with his hand all the time...
like an "I know" gesture...
His three mama's...
Surrounded by love:)
Superman STRONG!!!
Truly his strength, determination
and perseverance are incredible.
He is our Superman!!!
and perseverance are incredible.
He is our Superman!!!
This will always be one of my favorite pics...
Young people (and older ones, too) never
realize how life can change
in an instant. It can be so devastating. :(
Hillcrest did an incredible feature story
about Travis in their annual report book.
It was titled "Supporting a Superman"...
it's awesome and I was so excited
to get to present it to Travis!!!
He's famous;)
This would be our last trip to our favorite
Chick-fil-a in Austin!
They took good care of us for almost six months!;)
They took good care of us for almost six months!;)
Our little cousin Lauren supporting Travis!!!
How about this good lookin' guy!!!
My mother took the rest of these pictures
during Trav's very last week at Texas Neuro.
This was during speech therapy with Joy...
Karina was a tech who took a sincere
interest in Travis. She was awesome!
PaPa in his chair! ha ha!!!
I still can't believe how my parents stepped up
and took care of Travis all of those weeks in
Austin. Lynna could not have handled
it if they hadn't (none of us could have).
Travis was so needy and the thought of him
ever being alone in a room with no
voice, no way to move, zipped up in a bed...
was just horrifying to us.
Thank God my parents were able to
go and be with him during the week
while Lynna had to go back to work.
It was not easy on those old folks;)!!!
But they did it and they never, ever
complained. Thank you, Sweet Jesus,
for our parents. Amazing.
John was another tech who was awesome!
Texas Neuro Hospital...
Still wish we had never needed to know
this place existed. There is a whole other
world when it comes to brain injuries.
Superman's room...
Travis with the DREADED bi-valve on his arm.
They ended up having to tape it
around his arm because he learned
how to take it off. He gave them
heck over that thing!!! One day I even came in
and he had it on the other arm...
maybe to trick the nurses! ha!;)
To this day, if you mention
that bi-valve, he flips off his arm!
When you can't talk, that's the only
way to express your anger and
he never hesitated to let the
bi-valve know he didn't like it
one.bit.at.all! It must have been awful.:(
Travis had some great nurses...like
Tina, Maria and Jessica.
It was awesome how so many
came to support and love Travis at
Texas Neuro. This tech was awesome! :)
"Signing" papers (with his left hand) to be
moved from Texas Neuro
to the Centre for Neuro Skills
in Dallas. Still not to home YET, but
definitely a step in the right direction!!!
Thank you, Sweet Jesus, for the miracle
of Travis and thank you for carrying
our family through this nightmare.
