So Very, Very Thankful

At 18 weeks, I took the Triple Screen blood test
which checks for abnormalities of your baby.
I received a positive result for the possibility
of my baby having down syndrome.
Some of you, if not many, of you already know
about this test and that there are A LOT of
false positives. In fact, I had a false
positive with Hadlee. Regardless, it is
extremely worrisome to get these results...
NOT THAT RESULTS LIKE THAT WOULD
CHANGE A THING IN THIS WORLD
REGARDING OUR LOVE FOR OUR BABY!!!
I am a mommy, though,
and we never, ever want to hear that
there is a possibility of something being
wrong with any of our children.
Since Troy and I want to be fully
prepared for our baby, we went to Dallas
today for a high-tech ultrasound to check
for markers that go along with down syndrome.
I had my dearest and nearest praying my
Baby Boy Love and me through this......
most thankfully we saw a completely normal,
active, healthy looking baby boy on the screen!!!
I can't stop thanking God!!! He is SO good!!!

We are half way along in this pregnancy and I
take nothing for granted...but for now,
Baby Boy Love looks fabulous and WILD!!!
Even the doctor mentioned that he is quite
the 'mover'!!! It's a good thing because
the Pierces like to move it, move it!!!
I hope to have the above pictures
scanned and blogged very soon! I just
happen to think the little guy is quite
a cutie...oh, how I loved counting his little
fingers and toes!!! And hearing his heart
beat...bestill my heart already!

Walker was at school today while we made
the quick trip to the Big City and Little Miss
just came with us. We loved having
our little lady with us! She is pure joy!
Haddie was such a good girl today,
and I loved having her with us during
the ultrasound...really wasn't too long ago
that we were at the same doctor's office
with her in my tummy checking for the
same thing!!! God is Good.

I might as well go ahead and let you
know that Walker & Hadlee have a name
picked out for the baby.........
COSMO?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?
They got it off of Clifford the Big Red Dog.
As much as I love the show Clifford,
Cosmo isn't going to really be in the
running for Baby Love's name!
We picked Walker up after school from his friend
and we celebrated with ice cream!!!
Have I mentioned to you how thrilled
I am that Hadlee will always be our little girl,
our one and only Princess Pie?And that Walker will forever be our first born,
our oldest, our Big Boy?
Today, as most days, I am feeling ever
so grateful...for my sweet children, my loving
husband, my amazing family and friends,
and a healthy little baby boy growing bigger
by the day in my tummy.
I am so very, very thankful to God.
He knows. He's here. He cares.
(Thank you for the card and verse , Robin.
Just what I needed to read today!)

And Baby Boy Cosmo Love...
just so you know, mommy is already
having a BLAST buying you stuff!!!
Your little stash of baby blue is
growing just like you!!!
I love me some baby blue and I love you!!!Thank you to everyone for your prayers...
but please, pretty please, don't stop them now!

"You made all the delicate, inner parts
of my body and knit me together
in my mother's womb."
Psalm 139:13

  2. How the prayers will flood you and baby love, I mean Cosmo! What a trying time. I love how you mentioned that the results would not change a thing but that you want to be fully prepared for your Cosmo. Isn't faith an amazing thing? I am so thrilled that everything went well today and that you don't have to worry yourself anymore!! I love your positive outlook and your ability to see that even if things are "different", you are willing to do everything to be prepared for sweet baby love! Goodness, I can't wait to meet this 'mover' and I am already prepared that I will have to stand in line :) So happy for yall and so thrilled for the relieving news!

  4. First of all, I am very happy that baby boy is healthy. Congrats!

When I was prego with Marlee (huge surprise baby...no more babies after Makenna's medical issues), they saw a cyst in her brain on the "normal" ultrasound. It was a warning flag for down syndrome and other disorders. I was sent to a specialist.

I remember thinking....God, how in the world could you give me Makenna.....and then ANOTHER baby with medical issues. I was terrified. But, like you....it was what it was and no matter the outcome....we would love that baby.

All the tests came back negative and now I have a healthy 1 (almost 2!) year old.

So weird too because Makenna developed perfectly "normally" in the womb and there were never any "flags" that went up giving us any indication of things to come.

BUT, God can make ALL THINGS NEW, and we are believing that awesome things are coming!

Praise Him every day for your healthy kiddos girly. Every day.
