Walker's school requested that the kindergarten classes wear a certain color everyday as they review the basic colors. Walker has been SO into this...until ORANGE day (no way...he'll never wear orange ~ the Aggie in him is STRONG even at age six), PURPLE day (he compromised by wearing a form of purple ~ Aggie maroon) and then yesterday's PINK day!
But then Mommy insisted, encouraged and talked him into this pink & red striped shirt. I showed him the cute penguin on it & told him that wearing a shirt like this will make him a real man! (Plus Grandmother paid a lot of moola for this shirt a while back!) The only other time he wore pink was the day Hadlee was born (I required it for all my boys!). So, he left yesterday morning in this shirt...and mommy prayed all day long that no kids would make fun of him!!!
The day before was 'brown' day! Here is my boy ready to head out the door for another day as the BIG little MAN on campus...
He had an extra skip in his step that day because he knew that I was going to go and buy the new movie The Great Discovery that came out (yes, my son still loves trains probably b/c I haven't let him get into fighting characters other than Spiderman ~ when your kid gets into things 110% like Walker, you have to be careful!). He also knew that I'd have it in his seat as soon as he got in the car! And for the icing on the cake...we were going to pick up our two favorite friends LUKE & LANDRY to come over & watch it with us!!!
Popcorn, cookies, a new movie and his best buddies!!!
This was much better than the 'after school specials' I used to race home to watch!!!
On a serious side note, thoughts and prayers ALL DAY LONG for those affected by 9/11. We will never, ever forget.
Such a cute post! What a good sport wearing his pink for mama. I hope he didn't ge made fun of either. Such a special special boy!
ReplyDeleteLove how excited he geta about school...that it honestly such a blessing:)
ReplyDeleteLOL!! It's so funny how boys become "pink sensitive" so early on! Tell him that your blogger friend says he looked VERY handsome and VERY boyish in his striped shirt!
