Happy Birthday, Daisy Baby!!!

It is beyond me that my baby girl is TWO years old today! How could this be?!? Hold me!!! It seems like it was only yesterday at 9:31 in the morning that sweet Daisy Baby made her arrival (with Daddy barely making it there in time ~ only because I, already in the hospital, had sent him home to spend some quality time with Walker ~ with much assurance from the nurses & doc that baby girl would not arrive anytime soon!). Looking back, maybe the nurses & doctors planned this so we wouldn't have as many people there as we did when Walker was born! Anyway...our little Princess decided that she was ready ALL OF THE SUDDEN...and she meant business! It was crazy...Daddy did barely make it with Grandmother in a close second and then MaMaw. Then Sweet Daisy Baby Girl arrived without a peep...scaring her mommy & daddy to death. I've never cried out to Jesus like I did that day. Angels were with us and after much ado, we finally heard Hadlee's sweet little squeals (the cord had been around her neck!)! She was tiny & sweet & perfect in every way! When Troy placed her in my arms, she made these sweet murmurings for what seemed like an eternity ~ she had lots & lots to tell Mommy! It was a beautiful time and I knew my life was complete (that's not to say my life couldn't be even more complete with a third baby, hint hint Troy!!!). The rest of the family arrived...including my first little love, Walker. He was so proud & loving to his little sister whom he had called Daisy Baby for my entire pregnancy (Well, not really, first the baby was Kong King then after we knew she was a girl, the name was Sissy Kong King. I'll never forget the day driving in the car when I asked him for a better, more feminine type name and he said..."Daisy. Daisy Baby will be her name"! Perfect.). This was so much her name that Walker could not fathom why we would tell visitors and nurses that her name was Hadlee McCall (the 'lee' after my mother's maiden name)!

There is just something about this little girl. A real sweetness that I hope she keeps forever and ever. I still see glimpses of my tiny baby girl...but more often these days, I am seeing the little girl she is becoming. Bittersweet to say the least. As I've said many times before, holding Hadlee is like holding a little bit of Heaven on Earth.

I am reminded today of a song that was sung at my wedding called "How Could I Ask for More" by Cindy Morgan. The song had so much meaning on my wedding day...and now, even more...

There's nothing like the warmth of a summer afternoon Waking to the sunlight, and being cradled by the moon Catching fireflies at night Building castles in the sand Kissing Mama's face goodnight Holding Daddy's hand Thank you Lord, how could I ask for more Running barefoot through the grass A little hide and go seek Being so in love, that you can hardly eat Dancing in the dark, when there's no one else around Being bundled 'neath the covers, watching snow Fall to the ground Thank you Lord, how could I ask for more So many things I thought would bring me happiness Some dreams that are realities today Such an irony the things that mean the most to me Are the memories that I've made along the way So if there's anything I've learned From this journey I am on Simple truths will keep you going Simple love will keep you strong Cause there are questions without answers Flames that never die Heartaches we go through are often blessings in disguise So thank you Lord, oh thank you Lord How could I ask for more?

Finally...some sweet pictures from Hadlee's first birthday week...

And Daisy Girl today with all of her many sweet, silly & mean faces...

Happy 2nd Birthday, Beautiful Hadlee McCall!

I Love you more than words can say!

(P.S. ~ Not to be a pushy blogger, but be sure and check out the sweet video below (with a great song...thanks, Megan!) I made of Daddy & Haddie in honor of her birthday week. I know some of you are laughing that I am instilling the idea of 'birthday weeks' to my children!
